Add Magnesium to your diet

Many factors affect magnesium availability from foods. One is the amount of magnesium in the soil in which the food is grown. Much magnesium can be lost in the processing and refining of foods and in the making of oils from the magnesium rich nuts and seeds. Nearly 85% of magnesium is lost during the milling of flours. Soaking and boiling foods can leach magnesium into the water, so the "pot liquor" from cooking vegetables may be high in magnesium and other minerals. Oxalic acid in such vegetables as spinach and chard and phytic acid in some grains may form insoluble salts with magnesium, causing it to be eliminated rather than absorbed. For these reasons many people get insufficient magnesium from their diets. In fact, according to the USDA, almost one third of the U.S. population gets under 65% of the RDA for this mineral.

  1. Very well noted information! I especially needed to hear this as I currently have at least a minimum of ten of the listed problems associated with me NOT DRINKING ENOUGH WATER! I knew I needed to drink more. Water, but somehow seeing this in black/white shall definitely serve as a catalyste. Thank you so very much.

After reading the article again, it was much to my feelings of shame and guilt that I discovered I have been suffering with over 30 of the listed problems included due to lack of cellular-deoxygenation. OMG, all of my problems have been self- inflicted. So glad I read this article so.I.can immediately begin to rectify the problems I have and improve my health if possible.

  3. Do not forget to include Sulfur into your diet as well. Since 1954 with the introduction of chemical fertilizers not only has magnesium been depleted from the food chain, but more importantly Sulfur which is the element that carries oxygen to your cells, has also been depleted.
